Performing concrete repairs on airport runways is always a time-sensitive operation. Additionally, the constant abuse on the runways means that long-lasting, durable and quality repair materials need to be used.
Elastomeric concrete is one product that we utilize in runway repairs. Elastomeric concrete is actually a two-part polyurethane patching material mixed with proprietary aggregates. It has been specified and installed on airport runways and highways since 1983. Some of the advantages of using elastomeric concrete are its high load-bearing capacity—it handles the weight of C-4s, 747s, and heavy truck traffic—and has outstanding antispalling properties.
At Dismuke Construction, we understand the special limitations of runway repairs, materials and maintenance operations and have the experience and expertise to do the job right.
